May 1, 2008
Aloha, members and Happy May Day. Thanks so much for the super volunteer effort on the Junior Judges program. Forty HSBA volunteers gave 89 presentations to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms in 30 schools! Our volunteers and the students had fun and the teachers were very appreciative. Thank you so much for your continued support of our Junior Judges program.
Also, thanks to HSBA volunteers for helping with our Community-wide legal clinics on Saturday, April 25, 2008 and for our expanded LegalLine Hotline on April 28, 29 and 30, 2008. A special mahalo to the Korean American Bar Association Hawaii (KABAH) for once again staffing an entire site.
Together, we have touched many people in our community!
BUT THERE’S STILL MORE TO DO: the Ready for the World Project is scheduled for May 12—16, 2008. This project helps educate juniors and seniors about their rights and responsibilities as they enter adulthood. Background materials are available.
