Law Week
Week-long activities on all islands for members of the Bar and the Public. Activities include Legal Line Clinics, Elder Law Fair, participation in Naturalization Ceremony, Golf Tournament, and various Practice Management Seminars.

Legal Line Hotline
Weekly telephone hotlines (Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.) where volunteer attorneys provide free legal information.

Professionals for Drug Free Kids
Collaborative project that pairs legal and medical professionals to speak to fourth grade students about the legal and medical consequences of using drugs. This project is held statewide during the last week of October.

Ready for the World
Attorneys visit high school seniors to speak about laws that will affect them as they make the transition to adulthood and employment. These 45-minute presentations cover laws such as employment, landlord-tenant, credit, drunk driving, and Hawaii's Lemon Law.

The Disaster Legal Assistance Manual
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National YLD have entered into the following agreement: If/when the White House declares a disaster in Hawaii and FEMA is activated, the Hawaii YLD will provide free legal information to disaster victims. This Agreement affects every state in the Nation. "Disaster" may be natural or man-made, such as Hurricane Katrina or the attacks on September 11, 2001. In the event of a disaster, the Hawaii YLD will either set up a legal line clinic at the HSBA or be available on-site at FEMA's disaster field office. This Manual will be used as a resource for the attorneys involved.
