    Access to Justice Room Training will be made available by appointment for the convenience of attorneys. The Access to Justice Room on the third floor of the Honolulu District Court needs volunteer attorneys to provide limited short-term legal advice to walk-in clients. Subject areas: residential landlord-tenant; consumer debt collection; and district court restraining orders. One hour of Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (MCPE) and two hours of Voluntary Continuing Legal (VCLE) credits will be available to those who attend the training.   • Thank you to HSBA members who voted in the HSBA and YLD Board Elections. Results of the elections will be made available in the HSBA October e-Newsletter, which will be sent to members on Monday, October 15.


    Online registration for 2013 license renewal is just around the corner. Announcements will be made as to when the 2013 online portal will be open. Here are several things to keep in mind as you prepare:

    • If you are planning to change status for the year 2012, the 2013 online registration form should not be used. Instead, contact Ms. Liberty Castillo in our membership department directly to change your status at lcastillo@hsba.org. Changes in status effective for 2012 must be processed (including completion of RSCH 22(i) requirements) by December 31, 2012.
    • Please visit our online portal at www.myhsba.org and login using your username and password to verify that they are still working. If you cannot gain access for any reason, please contact Ms. Liberty Castillo in our membership department at lcastillo@hsba.org.
    • The deadline to complete the online 2013 renewal registration will be December 31, 2012.
