MCLE Requirements and Rule 22

Every active member should check the MCLE page on the HSBA Web site to review RSCH 22, the FAQs, and the regulations and forms developed by the MCLE Board. Download the convenient "tracking worksheet" and setup your file to keep track of your mandatory continuing legal professional education (MCPE) and voluntary continuing legal education (VCLE) credits over the year--you will be required to report both on the 2011 attorney registration form. Mahalo to the MCLE Board which spent many hours these past few months assisting their fellow attorneys and the bar by implementing this important rule. The HSBA is offering numerous courses on every island and electronically to ensure that all members can easily comply with Rule 22 requirements.

All on Board...

Happy New Year!  I would like to congratulate Kristine Y. Yoo (Department of the Prosecuting Attorney) and Kimberly J. Koide (Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP) who were recently voted in as our newest Oahu Directors as a result of 2 board vacancies.  I am happy to announce that we now have a full board for 2010 that is raring to go on its projects!  The YLD is continuing to lead the High School Mock Trial project and the first round of competitions is beginning in late January. Good luck to all of the participating schools and I will continue to keep you posted on upcoming YLD developments throughout the year.  Mahalo!
