The Hawaii State Bar Association congratulates Associate Justice Mark E. Recktenwald on his confirmation today as the next Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court. The Senate also confirmed Blaine J. Kobayashi as a District Court Judge for the Second Circuit (Maui).

Swearing-In Ceremony

Associate Justice Recktenwald will be sworn in as Hawaii's 5th Chief Justice at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Supreme Court.

Blaine Kobayashi will be the first judge sworn in by the new chief justice on a date to be announced.
