Help Educate Hawaii’s Children against Drugs!
The Hawaii State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division is continuing its effort to educate children about the medical and legal effects of drug use with the Professionals for Drug Free Kids (“PDFK”) project. Now in its seventeenth year, PDFK needs your assistance to speak to fourth grade students during the week of November 12-16, 2007. Presentations will be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, depending on your presentation, and will be scheduled during the morning between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.
Volunteer participation during the last school year made this project a great success. Thanks to our volunteers we reached over 1,000 children on Oahu with the message that drugs will keep them from realizing their dreams. A survey conducted by school officials revealed that our presentations were very effective.
Volunteers are needed for the following schools:
Kalihi Uka
Pearl Harbor Elementary
Ma’ema’e Elementary
Shafter Elementary
Benjamin Parker Elementary
Moanalua Elementary
Mokulele Elementary
Kaaawa Elementary
Pearl City Highland Elementary
